Brad Sweet Gets a Heartfelt Farewell

October 22, 2025 | Edition #432
👋 Hey, Motorhead!
It was one of those nights that reminded everyone why racing is as emotional as it is thrilling. When Brad Sweet took the stage at the High Limit banquet, few expected the lump in his throat to hit that hard. His decision to scale back from full-time racing left an entire room misty-eyed, including longtime friend and team owner Kasey Kahne, who later shared a heartfelt message honoring Sweet’s impact on KKR. There was no flashy sendoff, just genuine gratitude between two competitors turned brothers-in-arms. And while Sweet’s next lap won’t be behind the wheel every weekend, you can tell this chapter is far from over.

Myth: Only Big Teams Win Races
Busted! While larger teams have more resources, the Next Gen era has leveled the playing field, allowing smaller teams to win through smart strategy, reliability, and driver skill. Parity-focused rules and data-driven coaching enable upsets and competitive racing across a wider field than in earlier eras. The NASCAR Next Gen car, introduced in 2022, significantly increased parity in the sport. In its first year, there were 19 unique winners, reflecting a more balanced competition than previous eras. Unlike earlier seasons where a few top teams dominated, the Next Gen platform standardized parts to reduce cost disparities, allowing smaller teams better chances at wins.
