Nobody expected the Bristol tire to behave the way it did last weekend. A drop in temperature reacted with Goodyear’s new rubber compound, forcing teams and drivers to adapt. It wasn’t an ideal scenario and led to mixed reactions. But King Petty didn’t appreciate the complaints coming out of the Cup garage, especially with NASCAR trying to improve racing.
