👋 Dear Motorheads,
It’s time! Bubba Wallace might want to heed Denny Hamlin's recent warning. Ross Chastain needs to bring back some of that 'Hail Melon' magic. And Kyle Busch? Maybe he could grab himself a shock win at Darlington this Sunday. The cutoff race looks set for an explosive finale. Especially after Harrison Burton burst everybody’s bubble with that Daytona win.
But speaking of young Harrison, his first-ever Cup win certainly wasn’t received well across NASCAR’s wider grandstands. Don’t get us wrong, the Lucky Dog is all about that feel-good first-win moment. But ask yourself, do you truly see Harrison making it past the Round of 16? Kevin Harvick doesn’t seem to think so. And this playoff format hasn’t missed the watchful eyes of his fellow racer-turned-podcaster Dale Jr, either.
But before we get into that, let’s take a moment to pray for the safe recovery of the dirt-racing star, Chase Johnson. The 28-year-old is struggling for survival after a devastating sprint car crash in Chico, California. The racing community is gathering to send their well-wishes to the man.
