On Monday, the Lucky Dog was only half sure about the “mystery driver” replacing an empty #19 seat at Joe Gibbs Racing next year. Now, halfway through the week, we are confirmed that it is indeed Chase Briscoe who will take over from Martin Truex Jr, once the 43-year-old finally decides to disappear into the wilderness. 

But as is the nature of the NASCAR nation, some doubters identified a potential problem within the #19 team. A problem that has plagued MTJ multiple times before, and still does. This problem has been around the #19 pit boxes for quite some, and it (or rather, he) comes from The Land Down Under. No, we’re not talking about Shane van Gisbergen. But don’t fret, as we’ll talk more about it in today’s jam-packed edition.
