How Much NASCAR Drivers Are Paid for Saying, “As Fast as Xfinity Internet.”

The secret's out! NASCAR drivers have been raking in some extra cash by mentioning Xfinity internet in their interviews. According to Parker Kligerman, it's a pretty sweet deal: $600 every time they say it, and $1,000 if they say it in victory lane.

"Xfinity, like really amazing what they've done for the drivers with that program where you mention Xfinity mobile," Kligerman said. "I know a lot of fans ask. Now that they're leaving, I think I can put it out there."

Kligerman did the math, and it's clear that drivers who consistently finish up front have been making a pretty penny. "You can do the math," he said. "If you're one of the guys that run up front, it is a considerable amount of money they give to you. They also pay your PR person."

The program has been so successful that the CW's pre-race and post-race coverage blew the funding record for mentions. "To put it in context, this year, the CW obviously has done full pre-race and post-race shows," Kligerman said. "Sometimes, they interview the top 10. They broke the record for mentions at like 1/3rd of the season. I think there's a couple guys, Zilisch and some of them that have made considerable income from Xfinity this year."

It's clear that Xfinity has gotten a lot of bang for their buck. As Kligerman put it, "So, they've been a great partner." And who can blame them? It's a win-win for everyone involved. The drivers get paid, Xfinity gets the publicity, and fans get to enjoy the racing.

As the NASCAR Xfinity Series hosts its championship race at Phoenix Raceway tonight, it's a bittersweet moment for everyone involved. Xfinity is ending its 11-year run as title sponsor, but its legacy will live on in the pockets of these drivers.
