Manufacturer alliances are a big deal in NASCAR racing. For drivers, switching from one team to another is relatively easy, but the same cannot be said for entire organizations. You’re either a Chevy, Toyota, or Ford partner, and this has been the standard across all three series for quite some time.
However, with Ram making a bold entry into the Truck Series, there’s been a major shake-up within the team camp. So much so that a long-time Chevy partner is now shutting down its Xfinity program to focus on Truck racing.

They don’t just scout these drivers, but set up entire operations in the Xfinity or Truck Series to develop them. The likes of William Byron, Chase Elliott, and Connor Zilisch have been nurtured by Chevy and HMS, while JGR talents such as Corey Heim and Denny Hamlin have been developed under Toyota’s program.
