Dale Jarrett 1999 Championship

Dale Jarrett’s first and only Cup Series title came in 1999. This was an era when Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt battled against each other, but Jarrett made the most of the ’99 campaign. He didn’t have 10 wins a year, but consistency was the one thing that made him stand apart. With a record 29 top-10 finishes, he kept his rivals at bay and secured the Bill France Cup at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Jarrett’s closest rival in this title race was Bobby Labonte, who finished 201 points behind the champion.
