Dover Motor Speedway introduced the famous “Miles the Monster” trophy in 2008 as part of a major rebrand for the track’s “Monster Mile” identity. The giant concrete monster statue overlooking the speedway quickly became one of NASCAR’s most recognizable landmarks, symbolizing how physically demanding Dover’s high-banked concrete surface can be. Since then, race winners have celebrated by posing with a smaller version of the monster trophy, creating some of the sport’s most iconic victory lane photos.
